All tourist should be aware of the local laws in UAE while making a trip during Ramadan.
According to UAE’S penal code, the law pertaining to consuming food or drink during Ramadan does not say that it is only for Muslims. A person who eats or drinks in public during Ramadan,or encourages the act of consuming in public can face up to one month in prision or up to dhs 2000 fine.
It also states that any shop that encourages the act of eating or drinking in public during the time of fast may be closed down for a month.
